OVERVIEW

Conducting research as an undergrad is mind-expanding and resume-building—and it doesn't just happen in a lab. Students at the University of Illinois have unlimited opportunities, and its Office of Undergraduate Research sought to make this known.

CONTENT STRATEGY

I worked with a team of designers and developers to create a website that champions undergrad research and connects students to opportunities. I developed the strategy and wrote all site content, which speaks to the excitement of conducting research on such fertile ground as the U. of I.

On the homepage, the pull-down feature guides users to content they need no matter where they are in the research process. Illustrative elements help frame research as fun, inclusive, and defying expectations.

Student spotlights highlight the volume and variety of research on campus, showing undergrads that projects happen in the arts, humanities, business—any field they're studying.

The ad banner and blog give the client flexible space to communicate ongoing deadlines and opportunities.
